Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of statements on social media criticizing Senate Democrats over the ongoing government shutdown and healthcare policy debates.

On November 6, 2025, Crane questioned the messaging around healthcare and the government shutdown. In his post, he wrote: “How can Obamacare be so great AND the government be shut down because we are in a healthcare crisis? How dumb do senate democrats think the American people are?”

Minutes later, Crane encouraged constituents to contact their senators about the issue. He stated: “Be sure to reach out to Senators Kelly and Gallego as well, since they refuse to vote to reopen the government.”

Later that day, Crane further criticized Senate Democrats’ motivations regarding the shutdown. He wrote: “Senate democrats refuse to open the government because they are worried about their “brand.” This is all a political game to them.”

Crane has represented Arizona’s 2nd District in Congress since defeating Tom O’Halleran in 2023. Born in Tucson in 1980, Crane currently resides in Oro Valley.
