Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, criticized the Affordable Care Act in a series of posts on November 3, 2025.

In his first post at 01:04 UTC, Crane wrote, “Obamacare is terrible.” Later that day at 13:35 UTC, he continued his criticism by stating, “The Schumer shutdown has backfired on democrats. It has exposed them for what they did to healthcare in America. Obamacare is a disaster.” In another post at 15:01 UTC, Crane posted an emoji and a link with the message ” https://t.co/O1dGJiFnDJ”.

Crane’s remarks come amid ongoing political debate about the effectiveness of the Affordable Care Act—commonly known as Obamacare—and recent government funding disputes referenced as the “Schumer shutdown.” The term refers to Senator Chuck Schumer’s involvement in negotiations over federal budget issues.

Crane was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative for Arizona’s 2nd district beginning in 2023.
