Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of tweets on January 13, 2026, addressing issues ranging from fraud in Minnesota to U.S. foreign aid and congressional funding decisions.

In his first post of the day, Crane commented on an older news report: “This @FOX9 report is not from today. It’s from 2018. Tim Walz had two terms to address the problem of fraud in Minnesota, and it only got worse. It’s no wonder Americans are fed up. Please watch the whole thing.” (January 13, 2026).

Later that evening, Crane criticized ongoing U.S. financial support to Afghanistan: “It’s 2026 and we’re still sending taxpayer dollars to the Taliban. Think about that. We passed @RepTimBurchett’s bill out of the House last year. Like many other good bills – it’s just collecting dust in the Senate.” (January 13, 2026).

In his final tweet of the day, Crane announced upcoming legislative action regarding federal funding for the National Endowment for Democracy (NED): “Tomorrow, the House will vote on my amendment to defund NED. The Trump admin tried to defund this rogue organization, yet Congress is trying to give it more money. Thanks to @MikeBenzCyber and all of the other patriots who have brought light to this. Urge your rep to vote YES.” (January 13, 2026).

Crane was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley at age 43. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative for Arizona’s 2nd district after winning election in 2023.
