Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of tweets on September 18, 2025, criticizing Democratic policies on policing and security.

In one post from the early morning hours, Crane shared a brief statement: “Good.” (September 18, 2025).

Later that day, Crane elaborated on his position regarding police funding and political accountability. He wrote: “Democrats defunded police departments, resulting in alarming vacancies and a surge in crime. At the same time, they demand personal security details, which divert officers from pressing matters. Thankfully, President Trump is protecting citizens despite senseless opposition.” (September 18, 2025).

That evening, Crane continued his critique with another post: “He voted to defund the police and then had the audacity to yell at them when they didn’t have the resources to make him feel safer. What a world.” (September 18, 2025).

Crane’s remarks reflect ongoing debates in Congress about law enforcement funding and public safety measures. These comments come amid persistent partisan disagreements over how best to address crime rates and allocate resources for both community protection and elected officials’ security.

Crane was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative for Arizona’s 2nd district after winning election in 2022.
