Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of statements on social media on August 26, 2025, addressing concerns about Chinese influence in American schools and expressing support for former President Donald Trump’s team.

Shortly after, at 22:15 UTC, he commented on national security issues related to China: “We should not be letting CCP agents infiltrate our schools, particularly when it involves research being funded by US taxpayers. China is not our friend.”

Later that evening at 23:01 UTC, Crane voiced his approval of the former president’s choices: “President Trump has assembled an amazing team.”

Crane succeeded Tom O’Halleran as the representative for Arizona’s 2nd congressional district in 2023. Born in Tucson in 1980 and currently residing in Oro Valley, Crane has focused part of his public commentary on issues related to foreign influence and national security.
