Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of tweets criticizing Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego for their votes during the recent effort to end what he described as “the longest shutdown in history.”

On November 10, 2025, Crane wrote, “Senators Kelly and Gallego were not two of them.” Later that day, he expanded on his criticism by stating, “Last night, Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego were given a chance to be part of the bipartisan coalition that moved to end the longest shutdown in history. They sided with their party over you and still voted NO. Please share so Arizonans can see for themselves.”

The following day, on November 11, Crane encouraged his followers to review additional information by posting, “Everyone should check this out:”

Crane’s comments refer to recent legislative efforts aimed at resolving a prolonged government shutdown. His remarks highlight partisan divisions within Arizona’s congressional delegation regarding this issue.

Eli Crane was born in Tucson in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He began serving in Congress after replacing Tom O’Halleran in 2023.
