Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of messages on his official X account on October 15, 2025, expressing criticism of the Affordable Care Act and commenting on healthcare costs in America.
In one post from October 15, Crane wrote: “Democrats seem pretty mad about the fact that Obamacare has made healthcare unaffordable in America. If only we could pinpoint the architects of Obamacare.”
Earlier that day, Crane also posted: ” https://t.co/ssp7TqysbX” at 12:45 p.m., and later commented at 3:41 p.m.: “Anyone surprised? https://t.co/WR0ejKn43Z”
Crane’s remarks arrive amid ongoing debates regarding the cost and accessibility of healthcare in the United States. The Affordable Care Act (commonly known as “Obamacare”) was enacted in 2010 with the aim to expand health insurance coverage and lower overall healthcare costs. Critics have argued that premiums and out-of-pocket expenses remain high for many Americans.
Eli Crane, age 43, was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative for Arizona’s 2nd congressional district in 2023.
