Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted several updates on his social media account on August 26, 2025, addressing topics ranging from disaster relief to national security.
In one post at 15:30 UTC, Crane commented on a policy change by stating, “So he’s making it safer and less woke. Seems sensible.”
Later that day at 15:58 UTC, Crane informed constituents about federal assistance available for those affected by recent wildfires in Arizona. He wrote, “ICYMI: The SBA is offering 30-year loans at a 4% interest rate for Arizonans impacted by the Dragon Bravo and White Sage fires. To assist with the application process, the SBA has scheduled several in-person meetings throughout Coconino County. See below for more details:”
At 19:23 UTC on the same day, Crane addressed concerns about international students from certain countries studying in the United States. He stated, “This is from June, and it just scratches the surface. We should not be allowing students from adversarial countries, particularly China, to come to America to “study.” This is a proven national security threat.”
Crane’s remarks reflect ongoing debates over education policy and national security as well as efforts to support local communities facing natural disasters.
Crane was born in Tucson in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative of Arizona’s 2nd district after winning election in 2022.
