Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, recently posted several messages on his official X account addressing national security and public safety issues.

On September 1, 2025, Crane marked the holiday with a brief message: “Happy Labor Day!”

The following day, he commented on former President Donald Trump’s approach to crime in Washington D.C., writing: “President Trump proved a simple concept in DC. If you provide real deterrence, crime will go down. By a lot. This has exposed the left. How many innocent Americans have to die for them to give up on their radical ideas?” (September 2, 2025).

Later that day, Crane referenced the anniversary of an assassination attempt on President Trump and raised concerns about Secret Service security protocols: “It’s been just over a year since the failed assassination attempt on President Trump’s life. Today, we’ve learned more about the structural failures at the Secret Service. The @DHSOIG just released a report detailing alarming vulnerabilities. This must be addressed immediately.” (September 2, 2025).

Crane, who was born in Tucson in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley, succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative for Arizona’s 2nd district after winning election in 2023.
