Pinal County has received Trauma-Informed Certification from Trauma Institute International (TII) and the Arizona Trauma Institute. The certification was made possible through a grant awarded to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office, and involved collaboration with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office and other organizations across the county.
This marks the first time in the United States that such certification has been achieved through interagency cooperation. According to officials, this milestone demonstrates Pinal County’s ongoing efforts to promote trauma-informed justice, enhance community safety, and support employee well-being.
As part of this initiative, employees and stakeholders in Pinal County will have access to trauma-informed certification at no cost for the next three years.
