Leadership Florence class explores local nonprofits during annual event

The Leadership Florence class, organized by the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, conducted its annual Nonprofit and Social Issues Day last week. The event provided participants with an overview of the role nonprofit organizations play in supporting the community.

A group of 42 class members visited several nonprofit agencies and social service providers throughout the Florence area. Organizations included Lighthouse Ministries, the YMCA, American Red Cross, My Brother’s Keeper, and CARE House. Participants heard presentations from leaders at each organization. House of Hope Pee Dee and Senior Citizens Association were also recognized for their involvement.

Throughout the day, attendees learned about how these organizations address important needs within Florence. They explored how nonprofits collaborate with community partners and work to improve residents’ quality of life.

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce is known for supporting local businesses by offering resources such as a member directory and networking events. It promotes economic progress, community engagement, and tourism in Florence through various initiatives on its official website. The organization operates as a business network serving Florence, Arizona.
