The Florence County Junior Leadership Class took part in the South Carolina 4-H Youth Development Legislative Day and State Government Session at the State House, according to a Mar. 17 announcement.
This event provided students with direct exposure to state government operations and opportunities to engage with public officials. Such experiences are designed to help young people understand how government functions and encourage them to participate in civic life.
During the day, students met with Jonathan Eckstrom, Director of Cabinet Affairs from the Governor’s Office, as well as members of both the South Carolina House of Representatives and Senate. The group concluded their visit by joining the Florence Delegation for lunch, where they discussed leadership and recognized the contributions of 4-H programs across South Carolina.
