Yesterday, students from the Junior Leadership Florence County 4-H Program took part in an Agribusiness Session. The event aimed to introduce participants to agribusiness, which is South Carolina’s largest industry, and highlight career opportunities within the sector.
The session included visits and presentations by several local agricultural professionals. Mr. Ted and Angel from McCall Farms, Mr. Richie from Bay Branch Farm, Ms. Brittany King who serves as a Commercial Horticulture Agent with Clemson Extension Florence County, and Mr. Jeff Murrie from The Farm at Florence 1 shared their experiences with the students.
“Your time, insights, and hospitality made the day both educational and inspiring!” organizers stated.
Florence County Farm Bureau provided lunch for attendees, while Florence County School District Two supported the logistics of the event.
The Junior Leadership Florence County Program is a collaborative effort between Clemson Extension Florence County 4-H, the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, and Francis Marion University. According to organizers: “The Jr. Leadership Florence County Program is a partnership among Clemson Extension Florence County 4-H, the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, and Francis Marion University — working together to develop tomorrow’s leaders today!”
