HopeHealth is set to hold its annual AIDSWalk on Saturday, December 6. The event will be held at the Streater Community Center located at 301 N. Dargan Street in Florence. This year’s theme is “Walk A While In My Boots.”
The keynote speaker for the event will be Johneri’O Scott, an HIV advocate who has lived with HIV for over a decade and now works to increase advocacy and visibility for people living with HIV.
Registration for the event begins at 9 am and will include a resource fair and coffee bar. The program starts at 10 am, followed by an awareness walk and trail ride at 10:45 am. Lunch and t-shirts will be provided to the first 250 participants.
Tiffany Straus, Associate Vice President of Constituent Engagement, said, “For more than 30 years, HopeHealth has been a leader in South Carolina’s response to HIV/AIDS by providing care, education, and advocacy for those most impacted. The AIDSWalk is a chance for our entire community to come together, honor those we’ve lost, celebrate those thriving today, and continue breaking down the barriers of stigma and misunderstanding.”
