The Greater Florence Chamber hosted its annual Women in Commerce Luncheon at the Florence Center, drawing 240 women from the area. The event is designed to encourage both career and personal growth for women, while also providing early networking opportunities aimed at fostering new friendships and business connections.

During the luncheon, representatives from McLeod Health and MUSC Health of Florence were present in the lobby to inform attendees about their women’s health services.

This year’s featured speaker was Dr. Rachel Spear, a professor of English and director of the Gender Studies program at Francis Marion University. Her talk was titled “Unpacking Your Mental Load.”

The luncheon received primary sponsorship from Duke Energy, with additional support provided by McLeod Health and MUSC Health Medical Center of Florence.

Organizers extended special thanks to members of the Women in Commerce committee: Paige Ard, Cameron Campbell, Ashley Christenbury, Madison Ellis, Susan Farver, Jennifer Greene, Stephanie Grosick, Jamey Kirby and Mindy Taylor.
