On November 7, the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce organized its Winter Community Breakfast at the Florence Center, focusing on mental health issues in the Pee Dee region.
The event highlighted the recent opening of the MUSC Health Jean and Hugh K. Leatherman Behavioral Care Pavilion, which began serving as a regional behavioral health center in late August. According to organizers, the breakfast aimed to share information about the need for this facility and its potential benefits for Florence.
Attendees saw a behavioral health skit performed by Dramatic Coffee Beans, followed by a panel discussion featuring local healthcare leaders. Panelists included Elizabeth Crowley, Executive Director at MUSC Leatherman Behavioral Care Pavilion; Rebecca Vincent, Vice President of Patient Services for Women’s and Children’s at McLeod Regional Medical Center; Farrah M. Hughes, Associate Vice President for Behavioral Health at HopeHealth; and Jay Hinesley, CEO of MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.
The Chamber holds its Community Breakfast twice each year to address key topics affecting the community. The event was supported by First Reliance Bank and Signature Wealth Strategies.
