The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce is set to host its annual Kickin’ Chicken Wing and Chili Festival this Friday, October 17, on the 100 block of South Dargan Street in downtown Florence.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to sample a variety of chicken wings and chili styles prepared by competing chefs and local cooking teams. The event will also include other food vendors and a selection of beverages such as wine, local beer, and craft beer. Live music and dancing will be provided by the band Chocolate Chip & Company.
According to the chamber, approximately 1,700 pounds of chicken wings and nearly 100 gallons of chili are expected to be served during the festival. The chamber encourages guests to arrive early for a full experience.
Proceeds from the festival will benefit the Pee Dee Visions Foundation, which supports educational initiatives led by the chamber.
The event’s main sponsors are Synergi Partners, HopeHealth, and Victors. Additional support comes from MPD Electric Cooperative, Hyatt Place, Hotel Florence, and Florence Downtown Development Corp.
“The festival helps support the Pee Dee Visions Foundation, which supports the Chamber’s local educational initiatives.”
