The 2025-2026 Fellows in Education program began its series of school visits with an event at South Florence High School on September 9. This was the first school visit of the year for the group.
The class consists of 30 civic and business leaders from the local area. Over an eight-month period, they will visit eight different schools within Florence 1 Schools to observe and learn about educational programs taking place each day.
During their visit to South Florence High School, participants were introduced to a variety of arts and technology programs available to students. The school is led by Principal Mrs. Shand Josey and is recognized as a premier arts magnet high school offering diverse opportunities.
Fellows in Education is a collaborative initiative involving Florence 1 Schools, the School Foundation, and the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce.
