The Farm to Freedom Festival, initially scheduled for the previous weekend, has been postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions. The event will now take place on Saturday, October 4.

Organized by Potter House Recovery and Stirrup Hope, the festival is designed to mark National Recovery Month and promote equine and farm therapy. The event also serves as a community fundraiser. According to the organizers, “Potter House Recovery and Stirrup Hope invite you to put your boots on and come out to the farm to celebrate National Recovery Month, Equine & Farm Therapy, Hope and Freedom with us through this incredible community event and fundraiser!”

Food and drinks at the festival will be provided by Victor’s, Pepsi, Kona Ice, and the Bryan Family. Entertainment includes live music, a DJ, games for both adults and children, as well as a dunk booth featuring Donovan Page and Rob Waller.

Special guests are expected at the festival. “There will be special guest appearances by Mayor Barnes who will be presenting a proclamation for National Recovery Month, Texas Roadhouse’s Andy Armadillo and more!” stated the organizers.

The evening is set to conclude with a bonfire, smores, and a raffle featuring various prizes collected from community donations. As highlighted in the announcement: “This special evening will end with a big bonfire and smores and a HUGE raffle! Our community really showed up and showed out and we have some awesome raffle items to give away.” Admission is free for all ages.

Among the raffle prizes is a Pee Dee IceCats Family 4 pack that includes four tickets in the 200 level seats, team merchandise such as a t-shirt, hat, decals, an official game puck, and a fan experience for four people. Winners must be present at the event to claim their prize.
