Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted several statements on December 17, 2025, addressing topics ranging from healthcare policy to Congressional procedures and ethics.
In a tweet posted at 19:14 UTC, Crane questioned the effectiveness of the Affordable Care Act and advocated for market-driven reforms: “Is anyone surprised that the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) isn’t affordable? Democrats promised lower prices and the ability to keep your doctor, but the law fails without endless taxpayer bailouts. It’s time to apply some free-market principles. @mattgaetz”.
Later that day, at 19:25 UTC, Crane commented on Senate procedural rules and called for preemptive Republican action: “As soon as Democrats retake the Senate, they will nuke the filibuster. In 2022, Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema blocked the Democrats’ attempt, but they are no longer in office. Republicans should act first and codify President Trump’s agenda.”
At 20:10 UTC on December 17, Crane addressed financial ethics among lawmakers by stating: “Things that make you go Members of Congress should NOT be allowed to trade stocks.”
Crane was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative for Arizona’s 2nd district beginning in 2023.
