U.S. Representative Eli Crane, who serves Arizona’s 2nd congressional district, addressed several local and national issues in a series of posts on his social media account on October 4 and 5, 2025.

On October 4, Rep. Crane posted a brief message: “Pretty weird. https://t.co/3qonOX9WBq”.

Later the same day, he commented on the ongoing government shutdown and its impact on his constituents: “A prolonged government shutdown hurts Arizonans.

I urge Senators Kelly and Gallego to stop playing political games and vote to reopen the government. The House passed a plan on Sept. 19th.

Only five more democrat senators need to defy Chuck Schumer for this to end.” This statement highlights his call for bipartisan action in the Senate to resolve the impasse affecting federal operations.

On October 5, Rep. Crane provided an update regarding recovery efforts after recent flooding in Gila County: “Yesterday, I met with local leaders in Globe and Miami following the devastating floods in Gila County.

My team and I are in constant communication with local, state, and federal officials on recovery efforts.

Our prayers are with everyone impacted by this tragic disaster. https://t.co/8ql3SQngB1

Rep. Crane has represented Arizona’s 2nd district since replacing Tom O’Halleran in 2023.[1] He was born in Tucson in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley.[2] His public statements reflect ongoing concerns about both national legislative matters—such as the government shutdown—and regional emergencies like natural disasters impacting his district.
