The Casa Grande Public Libraries have announced a series of events and activities for the week of October 5–11, 2025. The schedule includes opportunities for all age groups at both the Main Library and Vista Grande Library locations.

On Monday, October 6, the Literati Book Club will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Vista Grande Library to discuss “All the Colors of the Dark” by Chris Whitaker. Adults aged 18 and older are invited to attend.

The libraries are also promoting several reading challenges throughout October. Children ages 0–12 who complete ten activities can earn a prize, while teens and adults who read five books will receive a reading-themed pin. Participants can track their progress using the Beanstack Tracker App and should register at only one library.

Ongoing reading initiatives include the “25 in 25 Challenge,” which encourages participants of all ages to read 25 books in 2025; “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” for young children; and the seasonal “Fall into Reading Challenge.”

For youth and teens, there is an ongoing board game series on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. at the Main Library for students in grades six through twelve. A Crochet & Knitting Club meets Fridays from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Vista Grande Library for those aged twelve and up.

Adult learning opportunities include “Cook, Save, Enjoy,” an eight-class series on healthy cooking starting October 10 at the Main Library. The program is free and open to caregivers. On October 11, Vista Grande Library will host two events: a Master Gardener Series session on composting at 10:30 a.m., followed by a garden cooking demonstration focused on apples from noon to 1:00 p.m., which includes live demonstrations, tastings, and take-home recipes for those aged sixteen and older.

Family Movie Time features a Disney Pixar Cars-themed movie afternoon on Saturday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library. Children under twelve must be accompanied by an adult.

Language programs include weekly Spanish Conversation Gatherings on Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m., led by Ms. Violeta and Alondra at Vista Grande Library, as well as English as a Second Language (ESL) classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Adults seeking educational advancement can enroll in a free GED program offered by the libraries.

Technology support is available through Tutor Tech Time—one-on-one sessions covering topics such as smartphones, eBooks, and social media—and Universal Class provides free online courses accessible with a library card.

Volunteer opportunities include participating in the Mayor’s Reading Club or tutoring adults through ACE Team (Central Lutheran Church).

Library services continue with study room reservations available daily for up to two hours per person; donations accepted during business hours via Friends of the Library; access to local museums through the Culture Pass Program; and regular operating hours listed for both library branches.
