The Casa Grande Main and Vista Grande Libraries are inviting community members of all ages to participate in a month-long reading challenge. Participants can use the Beanstack App to track their reading progress and earn prizes. Children have the option to complete activity sheets, while teens and adults can log their books for reading-themed rewards.

Several special events are scheduled for the week of October 20-25. On October 24, the Main Library will host a Día de los Muertos celebration from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., featuring storytelling, Folklorico dancers, mariachi music, crafts for children, and pan dulce. A Trick-or-Treat Storytime is set for October 28 at Peart Park starting at 10:00 a.m., where costumes are encouraged and children can enjoy storytime followed by a StoryWalk trick-or-treat adventure. On October 29 at 3:30 p.m., Vista Grande Library will offer a mask-making session with various templates for creative activities.

For those interested in technology, an Intermediate Android Class will take place on October 23 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Main Library; no registration is required.

Ongoing programs include Board Game Club on Thursdays at the Main Library for grades six through twelve, Crochet & Knitting Club on Fridays at Vista Grande Library for ages twelve and up, EFNEP “Cook, Save, Enjoy” series on October 24 from 2–3 p.m., and Family Movie & Coloring on October 25 at the Main Library.

Additional opportunities continue with Spanish Conversation Gathering on Thursdays at Vista Grande Library from 12:30 to 1 p.m., ESL classes every Tuesday and Thursday morning also at Vista Grande Library, as well as monthly Master Gardener Talks—the next scheduled talk is November 8.

Other library offerings include the Mayor’s Reading Club, Universal Class courses, GED program options, study room reservations, access to Culture Passes, and book donation opportunities supporting Friends of the Library.

The Main Library operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Vista Grande hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Saturday hours matching those of the Main location.
