Taxpayers in Arizona who are responsible for filing transaction privilege tax (TPT) returns are being reminded by the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) that monthly, quarterly, and annual filings are due soon. ADOR encourages early filing to allow time for any needed assistance.

“Filing before the deadline is highly encouraged in the event assistance is required,” stated the department.

The department suggests using AZTaxes.gov to file and pay online. The website is available during nights and weekends for registration, filing, and payment. The service allows users to schedule payments ahead of time.

“Avoid the worry and hassle of mailing your return by using AZTaxes.gov, which is available nights and weekends to register, file, and pay online. Our online filing and paying service is free, fast, and easy — allowing payments to be scheduled in advanced,” said ADOR.

Key deadlines for December activity are January 29 and January 30. The electronic due date depends on both timely submission of returns and payments through electronic means.

Filers must submit a return by its due date even if no tax is owed for that period. State law requires electronic filing and payment under certain circumstances.

Remote sellers—businesses without a physical presence in Arizona but meeting specific economic thresholds—are reminded to use business code 605 (Retail Classification) when submitting their returns. This applies to remote sellers as well as marketplace facilitators.

Adult use marijuana businesses are also instructed to file TPT and excise taxes separately online at AZTaxes.gov.

For more information or to file electronically, taxpayers can visit AZTaxes.gov.
