Taxpayers in Arizona are being reminded by the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) that monthly transaction privilege tax (TPT) returns are due soon. The department encourages filers to submit their returns before the deadline, especially if they may need assistance.
ADOR highlights the convenience of using AZTaxes.gov, which allows users to register, file, and pay online at any time, including nights and weekends. The service is free and enables payments to be scheduled in advance.
The deadlines for TPT returns related to August activity are September 29 and September 30. The specific electronic due date depends on both timely filing and payment made electronically.
According to ADOR, taxpayers must file a return by its due date even if there is no tax owed for that period. State law requires electronic filing and payment under certain circumstances.
Remote sellers and out-of-state businesses licensed under Arizona’s remote seller tax law are reminded to use business code 605 (Retail Classification). This requirement applies to remote sellers and marketplace facilitators with no physical presence in Arizona who meet certain economic thresholds.
Businesses involved in adult-use marijuana sales are also reminded to file and pay their TPT and excise taxes separately through AZTaxes.gov.
