Taxpayers who file transaction privilege tax (TPT) returns in Arizona are being reminded by the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) that monthly filings are now due. The department is encouraging filers to submit their returns ahead of the deadline, especially if they anticipate needing assistance.
ADOR recommends using AZTaxes.gov for filing and payment. This online service is available during nights and weekends, allowing users to register, file, and pay electronically at no cost. Payments can also be scheduled in advance through the platform.
The deadlines for July activity are as follows: paper returns must be received by ADOR on August 28, while electronic returns and payments submitted via AZTaxes.gov must be completed before 11:59 p.m. on August 29.
According to state law, all taxpayers must file a return by its due date even if there is no tax due for that period. Electronic filing and payment are mandatory for businesses with multiple locations or those whose total annual combined state, county, and municipal TPT liability reaches $500 or more.
Out-of-state businesses licensed under remote seller tax law should use business code 605 (Retail Classification). This requirement applies to remote sellers and marketplace facilitators without a physical presence in Arizona but who meet certain economic thresholds.
Adult use marijuana businesses are reminded to file and pay their TPT and excise taxes separately online at AZTaxes.gov.
