No mainline freeway closures are planned in the Phoenix area for the weekend of August 22-25, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). The agency stated that ongoing improvement projects will not require any full freeway shutdowns during this period.

However, drivers should be aware that the eastbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) ramps to both northbound and southbound Interstate 17 remain closed. This closure is part of a pavement replacement project and is expected to continue until 5 a.m. on Friday, August 29.

ADOT advised motorists to stay alert while driving, avoid speeding and distractions, wear seat belts, and never drive under the influence.

A map showing current travel advisories is available in PDF format or on ADOT’s website, where a complete list of restrictions for the weekend can also be found.
