Drivers in the Phoenix area are advised to prepare for freeway restrictions scheduled for the weekend of January 23-26, 2026, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

Lane restrictions will be in place along Interstate 17 between State Route 74 (Carefree Highway) and Anthem Way. The work, which involves lane striping, is set to occur during both daytime and nighttime hours. ADOT urges motorists to exercise caution while traveling through all work zones.

In addition, Arizona Avenue and Lindsay Road will be closed in both directions at Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) from 10 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday, January 26. This closure is part of a widening project. The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Arizona Avenue will also be closed, and there may be additional lane restrictions on Loop 202 in the area. ADOT notes that schedules could change due to rain.

ADOT recommends checking the Weekend Travel Advisory map or visiting their website for more details about these and other scheduled restrictions.
