The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has announced scheduled restrictions for Phoenix-area freeways during the weekend of January 16-19, 2026, as part of ongoing improvement projects.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) will be closed between Williams Field and Higley roads from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, January 19, for pavement maintenance. In addition, westbound Loop 202 will be reduced to two lanes between Arizona Avenue and Alma School Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17, due to a widening project.

Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) will also experience lane reductions in both directions between 19th and 31st avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 17, as work continues on another widening project.

ADOT encourages drivers to consult the Weekend Travel Advisory map in PDF format or visit their website for a full list of restrictions planned for this weekend.
