A & J Firearms announced on Mar. 17 that it is offering free youth firearm safety classes in the community, aiming to address preventable incidents involving firearms among children.

The initiative seeks to educate young people about the importance of gun safety and responsible handling, emphasizing that education and respect for safe gun practices are essential to preventing serious injuries or fatalities. The program was created in response to recent unfortunate events that could have been avoided with proper training.

“Even if we can save just one life it is worth the time and money we spend on this class,” A & J Firearms said in its announcement. The organization also stated, “We, as a community, need to work together to provide proper gun safety to kids of all ages. Our children need to understand what will happen if he/she does not apply the four basic firearm safety rules. Education and respect for safe gun handling is the ONLY way to prevent death or serious injury.” They encouraged parents and guardians: “Please consider the importance of gun safety – for you and your child/children. You are welcome to call anytime for more information.”
